Description

Founded in 1966, the University of Southern Denmark is a modern, state-funded university with close links with business, industry and institutions in Denmark and across the world. It offers education and research at the highest level, with five faculties: Health Sciences, Science, Engineering, Social Sciences and Humanities. Every day more than 1,000 researchers and 18,000 students build on the University’s reputation as a centre of academic excellence.

The University is located in southwest Denmark and has four campuses: Odense, on the island of Funen, and Kolding, Esbjerg and Sønderborg in Jutland. Degrees taught in English are available at all campuses.

Degrees
The University offers degrees at bachelor, master and Ph.D. level (i.e. 3+2+3 years). Medicine, however, is a six-year degree.

The University has grown significantly in recent years offering several new degrees, particularly in information technology and communication. The University is also Scandinavia’s only university to offer a degree in chiropractics.

Student Life

Join the Erasmus Student Network: open to all international students, ESN offers activities several times a week, from sightseeing and kayaking to opera visits and football. The club also pairs exchange students up with a Danish student, who will meet you on arrival, take you to your accommodation and help arrange practicalities. Many international students stay friends with their Danish student after their stay.
Meet new friends: the International Café takes place every two weeks and is an opportunity for you to get at taste of food and culture from around the world.
Participate in your choice of university clubs and societies: from rowing and karate to cinema and literature, there is an activity to suit you.
Experience student life: by living with other students, you are part of a new community where local and international students socialise regularly.
