The University of Nottingham is a dynamic and thriving institution, located in the heart of the UK, and consistently ranks among the top British universities. It is also one of Britain's most popular universities that welcomes students from across the world. We currently have 30,000 students from over 140 countries spread over our campuses in the UK and on our campuses in China and Malaysia. Students are offered a choice of over 400 degrees and a multitude of research opportunities.

Curriculum Overview

The academic work of The University of Nottingham is organised into 31 schools, which are grouped into six faculties: Arts; Education; Engineering; Law and Social Sciences (including the Nottingham University Business School); Medicine and Health Sciences (including the new Veterinary Medicine School) and Sciences (including Agricultural and Food Sciences).

Nottingham's mission as a university is to sustain its acknowledged position in the leading group of research-led universities in the United Kingdom, and to complement this research excellence with the provision of a learning environment that is second to none.

Student Life

The Students Union's clubs and societies cater for a multitude of interests for students to join non-academic activities and we encourage students to get involved. With over 75 sports clubs the university prides itself in facilitating some of the top sport in the country. Facilities include an indoor sports centre, swimming pool and extensive sports fields. The city of Nottingham also provides many sports facilities including the National Ice Arena and the National Watersports Centre.

The University is renowned for its art and music facilities. The Lakeside Arts Centre houses a Recital Hall and an Art Gallery. The D H Lawrence Pavilion, named after one of the University's most famous graduates, includes a theatre and cinema complex.

The city of Nottingham is an exciting and vibrant city offering many facilities for its 50,000 strong student population. The city not only boasts the most sports facilities per person than any other city in Europe, but also offers two theatres, a concert hall, cinemas, art galleries, bars, restaurants and clubs. Nottingham East Midlands airport offers many flights within Europe and major international airports are only a train or bus journey away.

Special Services

The University has excellent laboratory, library and 24 hour IT facilities as well as restaurants, cafés, shops, a bookshop, banks and sports facilities are all available on campus.

Advice on immigration, working in the UK, bringing your family to the UK and other personal and academic issues is offered by the International Office Student Support Team.

Financial Aid

The International Office offers a number of scholarships to students from the United States and students are also eligible for federal loans.

Housing

Accommodation is guaranteed in one of our 18 student residences to all eligible full-time single students who apply by the required deadline. Students have the choice of on or off campus accommodation as well as catered or self-catered facilities. Single sex accommodation is available as well. Single international students who meet relevant application deadlines are guaranteed University owned or managed accommodation for up to three years. For families or others who prefer to live off campus, the University's Accommodation Office offers help and advice. The University offers a free shuttle bus service linking the campuses
