Description
Algonquin College is located in Ottawa, Canada's Capital. The College offers applied degrees and diplomas in advanced technology, business, media and design, health and community studies, hospitality and tourism, transportation and trades. There are over 140 full-time programs offered to 16,000 full-time and 35,000 part-time learners each year. Algonquin College is at the forefront of the technology revolution with more than 100 computer labs, wireless laptop business programs, state-of-the-art media facilities and a new Advanced Technology Centre which boasts a $5M Opto-Photonics Lab.
Curriculum Overview
Curriculum is designed in collaboration with industry partnership to ensure that our graduates are well-prepared for employment. Most programs offer both in-class theory along with field work or paid work placements. Algonquin College has articulation agreements with universities across Canada and also offers joint degrees with the universities in Ottawa.
Student Life
Students have acccess to many facilities on campus to enrich their experience at the college, such as, access to computer labs open 24/7; competitive sports programs; a Fitness Centre; Student Lounges; Library and Resource Centre, On-Line Learning Centre; Campus Dormitory and services offered through the Student Life Centre, Students' Association and the International Education Centre. Algonquin College has recently opened and "new" Soccer Facility to accommodate year round competitive sports.
Special Services
Special Workshops are offered to assist students in developing good time management and study skills. Peer tutoring and the Multi-Cultural Buddy Network are programs where students help each other towards their goals.

Housing
Algonquin College offers both on-campus student residences and our Homestay program for International students who wish to experience living with a Canadian family during their study abroad experience. Living with a Canadian family can help improve English language skills.
