Recording Arts Canada is a unique school that offers students an opportunity to learn and work in a creative and progressive environment. By Recording Arts we provide sophisticated technology, quality theoretical instruction, and extensive practical activity within a small group format so that out students graduate as skilled and employable professionals.
Curriculum Overview
Our diploma program is an intensive and comprehensive program that focuses on studio skills development:
- Engineering / production classes are limited to small groups.
- Optional co-operative education program.
- Over 60% [420 hours] of the curriculum is dedicated to practical / hands-on instruction in our world class studios.
Courses include: Signal Processing I, MIDI, Acoustics, microphone Applications, Digital Recording, digital Editing, Music and Computers, Sampling, Recording and mixing, Studio Protocol, Analog Recording, Full Session Engineering, Studio Management, Audio for Multimedia, Sound & Hearing, Hard Disk Digital Recording, Mixing Consoles, Music Business, Music for Television, Film and Radio, Post Production for Film, Product Manufacturing, Live Sound Reinforcement, Signal Processing II, Emerging Media Applications.
Student Life
Recording Arts Canada has two campuses located in Toronto and Montreal.
The Toronto college is centrally located in the heart of downtown Toronto. Steps away students can enjoy the energetic vibe of Queen Street, The SkyDome, The CN tower, harbour front and more.
Our Montreal college, offering instruction in both French and English, is located in beautiful Old Montreal.
Special Services
Recording Arts Canada offers an optional co-operative program.
Students are placed in professional situations during heir enrollment or immediately upon successful completion of our diploma program. Our co-op partners include include recording studios, jingle production houses, radio and television broadcasters, theater and staging companies and post production facilities. Our co-op program provides students with the opportunity to develop skills in real production situations, demonstrate their ability to a potential employer, and establish a professional relationship with industry contacts.
