Description
Franklin College is a non-profit organization dedicated to a new kind of international education, taking as its cornerstone Benjamin Franklin's vigorous support of a universal, intellectual interchange between the Old World and the New. Affirming the growing necessity for such exchanges between the nations of the Atlantic World bound by a common heritage and civilization, Franklin College aspires to contribute to the awareness of such common ties by bringing together both students and teachers of many nationalities and to foster that kind of interchange conducive to furthering the ideals of Western Man.
Curriculum Overview
Learning across a broad spectrum of human knowledge forms the basis of the Bachelor of Arts core curriculum at Franklin. Core studies begin with an interdisciplinary Seminar designed to explore contemporary issues through the use of classic texts. The core curriculum allows students to explore disciplines that help inform an educated human being.
Student Life
Students enrolling at Franklin College from varying parts of the world bring with them different linguistic and cultural backgrounds, but share a desire to learn about another culture and to experience a new lifestyle.
The Office of Student Affairs assists students to ensure that this initial impact with the new and unknown is a positive one, while at the same time promoting the students' ability to develop personal initiative and independence so that the learning process may also become an opportunity to attain a requisite degree of self confidence.
Financial Aid
Each year Franklin College Switzerland offers merit awards, grants and scholarships to qualified students who demonstrate academic promise and/or show financial need.
