Augustana is the newest Faculty of the renowned University of Alberta.
As a Faculty of the University of Alberta, Augustana continues to build on its reputation for high-quality teaching in a friendly, caring, residence-based setting. In doing so, it provides a distinctive small-campus undergraduate experience within one of Canada's leading universities.
The Augustana Faculty is located in the small and beautiful city of Camrose, one hour's drive southeast of Edmonton. Augustana Faculty is characterized by a lively, collegial academic culture of research, creativity, and public engagement in which students are invited to participate. It values interdisciplinary inquiry, teaching, and learning.
Curriculum Overview
The Augustana Faculty offers a challenging, innovative curriculum founded on the liberal arts and sciences, experiential learning in wilderness and international environments, and a range of campus-life programs. In this academic community, students are more than narrow specialists, spectators, or strangers; they are challenged to think for themselves in conversation with others, to ask big questions about ethics and life's meaning, and to connect learning with creativity, adventure, community obligation, and a critical perspective on the issues of the day.

Augustana Faculty is more than an institution of higher education; it is a community engaged in learning through a variety of experiences both in and out of the classroom. The quality of life in the community is enhanced by the quality and variety of its members, both staff and students, and by the array of activities - academic, artistic, athletic, musical, recreational, religious, social - available to students. Personal growth, wholesome development, and lifelong friendships are among the significant by-products of life at Augustana.

Housing
Augustana provides the basic essentials of a bed, desk, book-shelves, study lamp, drawers and closet space. Most rooms are double occupancy, and all are wired for internet connection and phone. Cafeteria meals are provided seven days a week throughout the school year and are included in the Residence and Food Services fees. Laundry facilities are available free of charge to on-campus students.
The outstanding residence hall program is specifically designed to provide an environment that promotes the development of the whole person through learning opportunities and recreational activities for residence students. The program is designed to facilitate student interaction, develop life skills, and to enhance the residence experience.
